MPAC and the Newseum are partnering to hold a discussion on how blasphemy laws violate the fundamental human right of free speech. This panel will present the status of blasphemy laws in the world today, and examine the use of these laws in some countries to stifle dissent.

Today is a big day. The Supreme Court is hearing a case looking at the limits of religious freedom in the prison setting. The case, Holt v. Hobbs, involves an Arkansas prisoner petitioning to grow a half-inch beard, which the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) believes is hazardous to prison security. -

Originally from Tempe, AZ, Ncube is a third year student at Occidental College in Los Angeles. She is working toward her major in media arts and culture, with a focus on media production and screenwriting, and a minor in critical theory and social justice. -
