MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati spoke at the IMAN Center Interfaith Iftar in Los Angeles over the weekend. The panel was a diverse group of rabbis, Christian clergy, and Muslim community organizers who came together to call for peace and unity in response to hate and violence. -

On Sunday, April 13, I Am Change LA Fellow Abeer Gaber joined more than 50 community members for the Claremont Interfaith Working Group for Peace in the Middle East fourth annual Interfaith Seder at the Islamic Center of Claremont. The Claremont Interfaith Working Group for Peace in the Middle East began in 2006 as a group promoting dialogue among faith groups and individuals concerned about the future of our region and the world. -

MPAC joined the world today in mourning the loss of one of the greatest leaders of our time, Nelson Mandela. He was a man of exceptional influence who fought apartheid to become a beacon of hope for his people and the world. -

On Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, six artists and more than 400 people joined the Muslim Public Affairs Council’s Hollywood Bureau in honoring philanthropist and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons with a “Voice of Courage and Conscience” award. The award is a tribute to his work in fighting and advocating for the rights of the American Muslim community in the face of bigotry and fear-mongering. -

On Tuesday afternoon in New York, the presidents of the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Islamic Society of North America, Salam Al-Marayati and Imam Mohamed Magid, joined other prominent American Muslim leaders for a meeting with the new president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, to discuss the growing violence in Syria and sectarian tensions which inspired MPAC’s “Intra-faith Code of Honor.” -

Hip-hop mogul and FFEU co-founder Russell Simmons hosted the event at his home in Beverly Hills. -
