In recent months, a large influx of unaccompanied minors from Central American countries across the border has reignited a furious debate over immigration reform. All people, especially children, must be treated humanely, with justice, and not exploited because of their legal status. -

Rising college freshman Marwan Osman’s strong interest in creating a voice for American Muslims brought him to MPAC this summer as an intern. He believes in the importance of working to reduce Islamophobia and stereotypes against Islam and Muslims by displaying Islam's peaceful ways. -

Last Saturday, MPAC took part in Orange County’s Annual Eid Festival held in Anaheim, CA. Attended by thousands, the event featured table displays from dozens of organizations, as well as their efforts in providing a celebration for the holiday. It was a great opportunity for Muslims, as well as non-Muslims, to learn more about Eid and Islam. -

The op-ed describes how the President’s pro-Israel remarks at the annual White House Iftar left guests and many American Muslims feeling “shocked and dismayed” and called it a talking point that “is code for whitewashing decades of atrocities committed against the people of Gaza.” -

Over 560 Palestinians have lost their lives due to Israeli military aggression in Gaza in just three weeks, more than half of them in the past five days. Yesterday, President Barack Obama expressed “serious concerns” over civilian deaths in Gaza, dispatched Secretary of State John Kerry to Cairo to “push for an immediate cessation of hostilities” and announced $47 million in humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. Humanitarian aid is badly needed; so too is dealing with the roots of the conflict. Now that Kerry is in the region, what should he push for?
