MPAC is proud to share the news that “Josh (Against the Grain)”, a film that sheds light on Pakistan and its people’s push for equality, is now available on DVD and digital download.  A winner of the 2012 Women in Film fund, “Josh” explores the education system, class separation, women’s rights, feudalism and the youth movement happening within the country today.

After a heavily sold out theatrical release in the U.S. and Pakistan and a release in the U.K., “Josh” has been bought by Channel 4 (U.K.) and now by Virgil Films (U.S.) which are distributing it on video-on-demand (VOD) through Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Google etc and DVD. "It's exciting to see a new, powerful and clear voice emerge from Pakistan from such a talented young woman. 'Josh' needs to be seen by Western audiences so they will understand that Pakistani citizens are demanding justice and equality for all her people." - Mitchell Block, Indiewire

MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau is proud of Iram Parveen Bilal who produced, wrote and directed Josh.

“Iram’s journey in making Josh has been inspiring and her success should be a beacon to Muslim women everywhere,” said Suhad Obeidi, Director of Operations and Head of the Hollywood Bureau.
