Diversity and inclusion are growing within Hollywood and efforts to create better, more accurate stories are now coming from the entertainment industry itself. We’ve been asked to consult on a wide range of projects; from groundbreaking ones like Coca-Cola’s Superbowl commercial to controversial TV shows like FX’s Tyrant. But, our work is nowhere near done. Problematic and stereotypical portrayals of Muslims still exist. Law and Order: SVU, NCIS, and Homeland are just a few examples of shows where we can spread our influence and expertise.

It is a historic moment and we're part of a historic conversation. On May 15th, 2019, our Board member, Omar Ricci, testified to the House Oversight Committee on the impact of white supremacy on Muslim communities. Our commitment to bettering the society that we live in is both a mandate of our faith, as well as our duty as American citizens. More can be done, and we're working to make it happen. Everyone in society has a role to play in countering white supremacy and the dangers it poses to our security.
