Middle Eastern writers make up only 0.3% of the total employment in writers’ rooms, yet these stories have been told by others for decades. MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau and the WGAW Middle Eastern Writers Committee share the goals of increasing Middle Eastern writers’ representation and bolstering more accurate, authentic portrayals of Middle Eastern people in film and television.
