25 Years Later after 9/11, MPAC Remembers

Videos
On September 11, 2026 By MPAC
Twenty-five years after 9/11, we remember. We remember the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who never made it home, and the families who continue to carry that grief. As American Muslims, we share in that grief. We also remember the solidarity that followed, when Americans came together to reject the idea that an entire faith should be blamed for the actions of terrorists. That spirit of solidarity matters today. In this video, MPAC President and Co-Founder Salam Al-Marayati reflects on 25 years since 9/11, the rise of anti-Muslim bigotry, and why our communities must continue standing together against hatred and division. Our destinies are tied together. ---------- Subscribe to MPAC's channel: http://bit.ly/MPACYouTube Like MPAC on Facebook: http://fb.com/mpacnational Follow MPAC on Twitter: http://twitter.com/mpac_national Follow MPAC on Instagram: http://instagram.com/mpac_national Visit MPAC's website: http://mpac.org About the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) We improve public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims by engaging our government, media, and communities. In this reaction segment from The MPAC Podcast, host Salam Al-Marayati responds to Donald Trump's address at a midterm political event in Dallas. Salam calls out the political opportunism of smearing Muslim American candidates like Abdul El-Sayed to rile up crowds, contrasts that rhetoric with business deals made overseas in the Gulf, and condemns the president joking about space technology targeting foreign names. In this clip from the 2020 MPAC webinar series, host Salam Al-Marayati and Dr. Abdul El-Sayed break down the vital shift from traditional military "national security" to authentic "human security". El-Sayed exposes why trillion-dollar military expenditures receive effortless political backing while funding basic human wellbeing remains an uphill fight: war generates massive corporate profit, while investing in human healthcare and community infrastructure does not. On The MPAC Podcast, host Salam Al-Marayati and Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) CEO Amy Spitalnick discuss the double standards of political litmus tests. While Muslim Americans are routinely pressured to answer for commentators like Hasan Piker, political campaigns face zero scrutiny when tied to extremist incidents. Watch full podcast episodes and policy breakdowns on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts. Links in the description! Spitalnick explains why performative condemnation traps are weaponized to fracture pro-democracy coalitions and distract from real public safety. How do minority communities protect democracy when extremist rhetoric moves from the fringes into the political mainstream? On this episode of the MPAC Podcast, host Salam Al-Marayati sits down with Amy Spitalnick, CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA). Drawing from her leadership in the historic federal civil lawsuit against the Charlottesville neo-Nazis that secured a $26 million verdict, Amy unpacks the mechanics of modern white supremacy, the lethal reach of the "Great Replacement" conspiracy theory, and why Jewish and Muslim safety are inextricably linked. Together, they dive candidly into difficult conversations: the normalization of anti-Muslim tropes during election cycles, controversial rhetoric at recent domestic summits, resisting the "litmus test" culture designed to fracture alliances, and the necessity of building resilient, pro-democracy coalitions across communities.
