Events like Hijab on the Hill are so important because they make visible what has always been true: American Muslims belong in every space where our country’s future is being shaped.
Seeing Muslim women, especially hijabis, walking the halls of Congress, meeting with elected officials, and hearing directly from Muslim Members of Congress is incredibly powerful. It reminds young Muslim women that their faith and their American identity are not in conflict, they strengthen one another.
This isn’t just about representation. It’s about presence. It’s about ensuring Muslim voices are part of the conversations that shape our communities and our country. When we show up, build relationships, and engage in public service, we’re helping create a government that better reflects the diversity and values of America.
