Shalina Effendi, MPAC’s Congressional Leadership Development Program Manager, brought together an incredible gathering yesterday to celebrate, uplift, and amplify the presence of hijabis and Muslim women on Capitol Hill.
In partnership with ISF, MPSN, CMSA, and MAPS, the event convened the next generation of Muslim leaders for an inspiring conversation with Members of Congress including Rep. Lateefah Simon, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and Rep. André Carson.
Representation matters. When young Muslim women see themselves reflected in positions of leadership and public service, they are reminded that they belong in every room where decisions are made, and that their voices have the power to shape our nation’s future.
